Hurricanes are one of the most destructive natural occurring events that cause death and destruction to property. However, this event does not just happen from the “blues”. There are many factors which need to be conducive to for a hurricane to happen.
Some of the factors that need to be available for a hurricane to happen include moist mid- atmosphere, warm ocean water, low atmospheric stability, pre-existing disturbance, sufficient Coriolis force, ,and upper atmosphere divergence. These are seven occurrences that must be available for a hurricane to form is the monsoon trough. Note that this trough Is just an extension of the Inter tropical convergence zone. Note that the trade winds which form do not spin and thus the trough is the major cause of the spin. You need to know that six out of seven hurricanes are actually caused by the monsoon trough. The only hurricane formation basin that has hurricanes which do not emanate from the trough is the Atlantic basin.
Another cause for hurricane formation is the front available on the tropical waters. Take note that a front has a cyclonic spin and thus with wind, shear, and showers could make the front to develop to a hurricane.
Tropical Upper Tropospheric Trough is another cause of the hurricanes. You need to know that this trough contains cold air and thus when it finds itself in the tropics, it can get to adapt to the warm current that comes with the weather. Sudden changes in the trough can lead to the formation of a hurricane.
There are many other ways in which a hurricane can get to form. Some areas have a favorite time at which the hurricane can get to happen. You need to find out from the local weather centers when your area is most vulnerable to the hurricanes in case you live in an area that is prone to the calamity.
